A Thin Place…
The trinity of days of Halloween, the Feast of All Saints, and the Feast of All Souls have long been a thin place in the turning of the year.
In ancient Celtic communities Samhain (October 31), was often recognized as the Celtic New Year, also called Ancestor Night. It represented the final harvest, when the crops were safely stored for the coming Winter.
As the veil between the worlds of life and death is thin on this night, time was taken to remember the beloved dead.
As you move through these days, who lingers close in your memory?
